The Anxious Generation” Book Discussion and Interactive It is indisputable that social media and smartphones have transformed our personal and professional worlds. What has been less understood until recently is the impact of social media and technology on children. With nearly two decades of this technology now under our collective belts, scientists have gathered data and what’s been revealed about the impacts of social media and smartphones on our children’s mental health is alarming. Parents of elementary-aged children are in a unique position to learn in real-time how technology impacts children and changes that can be made to reduce negative impacts. On Tuesday, November 19th at 6:30 PM, Ladue's Community Education Department is collaborating with Reed School's Parent Association to host an interactive talk examining the bestselling book The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, followed by a discussion of challenges and solutions specifically geared for parents of elementary-aged children. The discussion will be led by local mental health counselor Jamie Heimos, LPC. This event is open to all elementary parents with students enrolled in the Ladue School District. ***Free onsite childcare will be available for children who are potty trained.***
